Sariska National park at Jaipur
The park was set up in 1982 in the district of Alwar covering an area of
274sq.km. The nearest town and the rail head is Alwar at a distance of 36
km from the park, Jaipur is the nearest airport at a distance of 110 km. The
tract of the park is mainly hilly with two plateaus. The forests are dominated
by dhok.
The fauna of the park comprise tiger, leopard, panther, wild boar, hyena,
jungle cat, civet, four horned antelope, sambar, cheetah, ratel, caracal,
chinkara, nilagi, partridges, green pigeon and pea fowl.
The park can be visited round the year except in July, August, and September.
It has rest houses.
